I have spent the last week engrossed in a reading a book series by Addison Moore. I am an avid reader and when on a reading "bender," there is nothing that I would rather do. For the last year or so I have been working on the Game of Thrones book series. They are beautifully written and creative and quite captivating. All of that being said they are also long books. Every once in a while I want to take a break from the series and devour something short and sweet. (Plus I am almost half way through the last book A Dance with Dragons and I just don't want it to end.) My indulgence for this George R. R. Martin hiatus has been the Celestra book series. It is a YA series and I love it. I will attempt to paraphrase the author, Addison Moore, she said on a recent interview that she was essentially an emotionally stunted sixteen year old at heart, and I feel very much the same. I read through the the first four books in the series in less than a day each, and the fifth book I spent two days reading (pesky work). I was very lucky in my timing of discovering this series because just a few days after I finished the fifth book, the sixth book was scheduled for release (and that day is today). Addison has been very diligent about her publishing time frames. A new book has been added to the series every 2-3 months since Ethereal was published. I am about to embark on a new adventure with Addison's heroine, Skyla, and I cannot wait to see what unfolds in the sixth installment, Expel. Eventually I am sure that I will get around to finishing A Dance with Dragons, but for now I will simply relish in enjoying my inner teenager and devour another Celestra tale. (I will let you know how I feel when I am finished!)

Lol, yeah George Martin is my favorite author, but he is ridiculously slow. :) my break is hunger games.
ReplyDeleteI haven't read those yet, but they're on my to-do list. I watched the movie (like the rest of America). Are you stoked for Sunday? I had to get cable again yesterday just so I could have HBO before the season starts.
